Do you ever know how the number were formed? I am here to reveal the Theory about how numbers were formed in earlier days. The Theory however is suitable only for Arabic numbers and not for Roman or any other type.
We all know that the numbers we all use (1, 2, 3, 4, ….9) are known as ” Arabic” numbers. Actually the Arabs popularized these numbers but they were originally used by the early Phoenician traders to count and keep track of their trading accounts.
Do you have any idea about why 1 is actually called as ONE or 2 is called as TWO and so on? It not too late atleast know now!!
It’s all about angle! It’s the number of angles. If one writes the numbers down (see below) on a piece of paper in their older forms, one quickly sees why.Angles have been marked with “o”s.
No 1 has ONE angle.
No 2 has TWO angles.
No 3 has THREE angles.
No 4 has FOUR angle.
No 5 has FIVE angles.
No 6 has SIX angles.
No 7 has SEVEN angle.
No 8 has EIGHT angles.
No 9 has NINE angles.
Isn’t it amazing?
